CLINICS
Maternity
Services
Antenatal Clinic - Thursday 2.00pm
The surgery provides full maternity services and makes use of the GP Unit at
the George Eliot Hospital. This means that low risk mothers can have all their
maternity care including delivery under the care of their family doctor and community
midwife.
Baby Clinic - Thursday Mornings 10.30am
The practice carries out all of the standard child development checks and immunisations.
The clinic is run by the doctor, health visitor and practice nurse. If your child
is due for immunisation please come along to this clinic. You will have the opportunity
to discuss with the health visitor any problems eg sleeping, feeding and child
worries. We ask you not to bring ill children along to the baby clinic, to prevent
the spread of infection.
Health Promotion
The practice is interested in all aspects of maintaining a healthy lifestyle
and preventative care. By monitoring particular aspects of health, such as blood
pressure, cervical smears and urine testing, we can prevent certain diseases
from occurring.
Diabetes
The practice offers a comprehensive diabetic service. This will enable your diabetes
to be closely monitored. Please make an appointment with the nurse practitioner
to discuss your needs.
Asthma
People with asthma benefit from regular medication review and support to enable
them to manage their own asthma. We recommend six monthly asthma reviews. Please
make an appointment with the asthma nurse.
Counsellor
We have a practice counsellor who comes to the surgery to deal with short-term
problems appropriate for counselling, eg bereavement, stress reaction, anxiety
management. More complex problems requiring longer periods of counselling would
be referred to the Bedworth Counselling Team.
Patients Over 75 Years of Age
If you are 75 or over and are not seen on a regular basis for an ongoing medical
condition, you are entitled to have an annual health check. Please make an appointment
with the nurse.
Patients Aged 16 to 74
If you have not attended surgery for a consultation in the last three years,
you are entitled to have a health check. Please make an appointment with one
of the nurses.
Family
Planning
We provide full contraceptive advice, including the fitting of intra-uterine
devices (coils). Please make an appointment with the nurse or doctor.
Minor Surgery
We perform minor operations such as removal of lumps and bumps, joint injections
etc. Please make an appointment in a normal consultation first.
Flu Vaccination
Influenza vaccination is recommended for all patients aged 65 and over. It is
particularly recommended for patients with heart disease, asthma, kidney disease,
diabetes and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the receptionist
staff in September for details of the flu clinic dates and to make an appointment.

If you are a smoker and would like help to stop smoking, please make an appointment
with a nurse or doctor.
